I only offer one to one workshops however I dont charge extra for couples that want to learn together.
Way Out Westie was born from a 10000mile journey which started in the UK and ended in Vancouver, Canada. Whilst adventuring across 11000ft mountain ranges, deserts and deep snow I learned what it really takes to keep our aircooled volkswagens alive. I run my workshops a bit differently compared to the rest of the market. I only offer one to one workshops as I find this a more relaxed learning experience than being in a group of people. It also means you can ask as many questions as you like and I can pass on my knowledge and experiences…over a cup of tea and a cake or three.
Wayoutwestie workshops are tailored to the customers needs
Firstly some of the workshop will be on your own vehicle if you choose to bring it along, you can literally learn how to keep it running and ask as many questions as you like. Secondly if there is something specific on your bus you want to look at (even if its not on the plan for the day) I will be more than happy to go through it / advise you.

The One 2 One Courses cover :

A relaxed Day course on date that works for you – approx 5 hours, am or pm, flexible weekdays and some weekend availability.

  • Bring your own vehicle and learn how to maintain it. (Not essential as I have other vehicles / engines available)
  • A brief history of the Aircooled engine
  • How the engine works
  • How to do a full service
  • Worth while upgrades
  • Common faults and breakdown issues and how to best avoid them
  • Common oil leaks and how to avoid them
  • What spares and tools to carry with you
  • Fuel line safety and fuel type advice

Also included is a ‘Wayoutwestie Glovebox Survival Guide’ covering the above as well as :

  • What to do if your engine is running lumpy.
  • What to do if your engine wont start.
  • What spares and tools you should consider taking with you.
Included : Tea, coffee, soft drinks and cakes and sandwiches served from my campervan!
